Berkeley Undergraduate Linguistic Symposium

The Society of Linguistics Undergraduate Students (SLUgS) of UC Berkeley invites you to apply to the Second Annual Berkeley Undergraduate Linguistics Symposium on December 2, 2017. This undergraduate symposium is a great opportunity for undergrads to formally present their work and engage in discussion with attendees. This interdisciplinary event welcomes language research coming from the fields of linguistics, cognitive science, psychology, philosophy, and anthropology.

If you are a linguistics undergraduate doing independent research (such as a senior thesis
or class project), or if you’re working as a research assistant on someone else’s project, we
would love to hear from you! The project need not be finished; we accept works-in-progress, as
long as there is enough material to fill a 20-minute speaking slot. If you’re presenting on your
work as a research assistant, you should have the principal investigator send us an email to
confirm that you have permission to present their research.

Submission: email us at calslugs@gmail.com
Limit: one page (including any tables or diagrams)
Deadline: Friday, October 27 at 11:59pm
Questions? email us at calslugs@gmail.com or call Akshay Aitha at (925) 336-6457

Registered speakers and attendees will receive more details and logistical information as the
date approaches. Thank you!
