Dr. Brenda Rapp Honored by UCLouvain

On April 8, 2025, Dr. Brenda Rapp was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. This prestigious recognition highlights Dr. Rapp’s significant contributions to the field of reading science and the impact it has had on an international scale.

As noted by UCLouvain’s Psychological Sciences Research Institute, Dr. Rapp’s research has greatly contributed to elucidating the cognitive and neural bases of written word processing. Additionally, her work has advanced understanding, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for individuals suffering from cognitive disorders induced by neurodevelopmental disorders, stroke, or neurodegenerative disease.

Dr. Rapp’s colleague, Dr. Marina Bedny, expressed her admiration and congratulations, stating, “Brenda’s work has defined the field of reading science internationally. An incredible and well-deserved honor. Congratulations, Brenda!”
